Composite Cloud Services

What are Composite Cloud Services

Over the last few years web portals are being supplanted by applications known as mashups that present data from multiple systems in the context of a web application. FusionOps goes beyond traditional mashups, enabling complete business processes to be configured and automated  and delivering the solution as an on-demand service that is assembled for each customer. We call these services Composite Cloud Services. These services include orchestration and integration of on-premise and on-demand applications and fully configurable user interfaces.  End users can make ongoing changes to the service as requirements change by using simple business rules.

Composition application technology provides the middle ground between ‘make’ and ‘buy’ applications. The new technology provides a set of core building blocks that may be rapidly assembled, configured and ready to execute complex, cross-functional business processes. Key attributes of application composition include:
  • Reusing, integrating, and orchestrating  functionality from existing applications
  •  Implementing start-to-end business processes to solve concrete business problems
  • Be configurable without code changes
  • Allow analysis followed by action
Leading analysts such as Gartner, Microsoft, IBM and major ERP vendors have endorsed the value of composition applications.

The Problems Composite Cloud Services Solve

With information spread across multiple locations, increasing competitive pressures, and an increasingly regulated economy, organizations are continuously looking for areas to increase efficiency, compliance and responsiveness. Whether it is fulfilling the order as promised or it is enabling buyers to be able to order the right components: manual, isolated, and uncoordinated processes have several things in common that contribute to their inefficiency:

  •  Transfer of work is not done efficiently between different people and disparate systems
  • Manual processes are not repeatable without human error
  •  Loss of responsiveness is a penalty
  • Management does not have much visibility into the status of critical tasks for business
To meet all these challenges, organizations have leveraged desktop tools such as email, spreadsheets etc. Unfortunately, these tools have a number of significant drawbacks. First, they are limited in functionality and scope and not designed to support end to end processes. Second, they comprise multiple, independent applications that are cobbled together, rather than a single solution designed to address a specific business need. Third, solutions that meet these needs often require additional customization and are very expensive (in terms of both software and implementation costs).

FusionOps empowers organizations to configure cloud services to meet their own needs, to bring responsiveness and increased efficiency to their critical business activities by automating collaboration across people and systems.
