OMNICELL SELECTS FUSIONOPS SOLUTION TO LOWER INVENTORY AND INCREASE RESPONSIVENESS OF DIRECT MATERIAL SUPPLY PROCESS
San Jose, CA - November 21, 2005
FusionOps Inc, a market leader in material collaboration software, today announced that Omnicell, Inc. (NasdaqNM:OMCL), a leading provider of patient safety solutions preferred by nurses, has selected its software to streamline its material execution and supplier collaboration processes. The solution will integrate with Omnicell's JD Edwards (Oracle) ERP system and will help enable Omnicell to significantly reduce inventory, lower material costs, and increase buyer productivity.
FusionOps enables companies to eliminate material shortages while simultaneously lowering inventory levels by increasing control and velocity of the collaborative material execution processes between an organization and its suppliers. Typically, material execution processes are manually intensive, error prone and inefficient leading to lack of control over the material ordering and supplier collaboration processes. Organizations compensate for it by carrying higher inventory buffers and increasing lead times. FusionOps enables companies to increase velocity and improve control of these processes, leading to lower inventory.
"We selected FusionOps to automate our direct material supply processes for manufacturing to increase control and responsiveness in order to significantly reduce inventory and lower overhead costs," said David Paul, director of materials at Omnicell. "With FusionOps, we are looking forward to eliminating manual processing of MRP-based POs, forecasts and change orders, improving tracking and increasing material execution visibility."
"We look forward to working closely with Omnicell in making their implementation a success," said Ram Mohan, CEO of FusionOps. "FusionOps continues to garner significant interest in the industry due to its unique technology and approach that enables manufacturers to eliminate shortages while reducing inventory with payoff in a matter of a few months."
